Jeep Honcho 1979 One that You Desired is Just a Click Away

Long to be in history, Jeep is a brand that has a classic line of vehicles highly appreciated by vehicle lovers, enthusiasts, and collectors. Though it has stopped manufacturing, for the enthusiasts, the J-series of Jeep, formerly known as Gladiators is still harped on, especially the J10 model. Though after such long years, J10 will not be perfect, since most of its parts might be outdated. But with few changes, it can still run well on and off-road.

Adding to their Jeep J- series, the J-10 pickup truck was manufactured by the AMC (American Motors Corporation), in 1974. And as such throughout the production of the J-series, it was available in different trims, which includes Jeep J 10 Honcho, 10-4, and Golden Eagle. The body design of the trim packages was identical to the Cherokee brand and Wagoner.

Jeep Honcho can be used as a daily ride, or you might be considering showcasing it as a part of your collection. It can also be driven off as an off-road adventure companion or carrier of everyday essentials. J10 is considered to be one of the reliable and durable vehicles. So those planning to purchase one can consider it as a good investment. The Honcho is being restored in such a way that its vintage style is kept intact.

What is being replaced is the car parts, with better and technologically advanced parts for better functioning. Sometimes, other things are changed according to the buyer’s demands and lifestyles. Though for the vintage J10 series, the upgrades are done according to the current needs and trends. However, it is highly recommended to replace the stereo and speakers with a modern Bluetooth enable media player, a unit with AM/FM, while also upgrading the speakers. It is also advisable to change the ignition since this model was manufactured in 1979. Hence replace it with newer models for convenient and smooth driving.

The Jeep Honcho 1979 when introduced was a bit expensive to other jeeps in the series and was the truck counterpart of Cherokee Chief. What caught the fascination of the buyers, were that the trim had wide wheels, off-the-road ready tires, enabling it to conquer rugged terrains as compared to other trucks or vehicles that left spinning their tires.

The early models of the J-series were powered by the AMC 230 (3.8 L) inline-six. Later models such as Dales’ Honcho were powered with more purposeful AMC 360 (5.9L) V8. Transmissions were limited to three or four-speed automatic and a three-speed manual, with the power reaching the dirt via a Borg transfer case and pair of Dana axles.

J 10 is regarded as one of the most sought-after models in the sphere of well-thought-of design, enhanced reliability, and great durability on and off roads. Such is its durability that it can be driven away easily on difficult and rugged terrains. Though the upgrading might require people who possess electrical and mechanical skills and knowledge. Also, installing a storage box in the jeep is advisable to keep necessary emergency tools that do not occupy too much truck bed space.

Vintage jeep restoration is carried out with immense attention to detail. Engines are upgraded that offer high performance than the original ones. The J10 spells out a unique cool factor and an awesome shine that turns heads wherever it is driven to. The comfort of the Honcho is such that a small ride turns into a long one. Jeep Honcho is usually sold with an annual trim package option that keeps the vehicle fresh and the buyers interested.
