High Performance Jeep Grand Cherokee Chassis Frames
Jeep Grand Cherokee is recognized for its unibody design, the design combines the body and chassis on a single car and reduces assembly costs. Unibody cars are better constructed as a result of better structural rigidity, which in turn provides better handling, increased safety, and improved fuel economy.
Jeep Grand Cherokee Chassis Frames
In contrast to body-on-frame designs where the body sits on one-off chassis that is the chassis, the body sits on an unibody car, which provides a lower center of gravity, resulting in smoother ride quality and more similar handling characteristics to a car. It has brought their knowledge of chassis design to a new level; realizing the limitations of original frames in terms of handling modern high-performance engines, they began working on building a custom-built chassis for the historic Jeeps.
Conception and Design
In the development process of our custom chassis, it was key to ensure that all hard-to-fit drivetrain components were accommodated within the frame. Originally developed with frame capacities at 450 and 1000 HP, original Jeep bodies did not have enough structure to handle such powerful vehicles. To address this need, performed several detailed 3D scans of the original Jeep bodies to obtain detailed an anchor point which then was used to create a full Computer Aided Design (CAD) model that would accurately match the existing Jeep body structure while providing a secure connection to modern drivetrain components.
Prototype Development
Originally created as an online model but subsequently revised to a physical prototype, the chassis was made out of 5mm thick steel; an improvement over the 3mm thickness used originally. This added considerable structural integrity to the frame. Chess is assembled with various assemblies of engines, transmission, transfer cases, axles, and suspension components to ensure compatibility and driveability as well as chassis and design compatibility with various Jeep Full-Size body styles, including Grand Wagoneer, Wagoneer, Cherokee, and J-Truck to name a few.

Testing and Validation
It was also a crucial part of the testing process, to assess both the design of the chassis as well as its function. By assembling the chassis on various body styles and engine packages was able to ensure all components blended together precisely and worked in sync. This process eliminated any issues with handling, acceleration, and braking, which could have occurred on these classic Jeeps with today's high-end SUVs.
Finishing Process
The chassis is first finished by sandblasting to remove contaminants, powder coating for corrosion resistance, and cavity coating for internal protection. With all these preparation steps combined, we provide one of the most durable and appealing finishes to prevent damage from all kinds of environmental influences and greatly extend the lifetime of the chassis.
Outcome and Impact
It was a combination of hard work, dedication, and an eye for detail that finally yielded the ultimate engineered design for the chassis. The result is a chassis so accurate it truly fulfills the definition of a perfect hybrid for classic Jeep architecture with the best possible performance. The chassis is not only capable of driving offroading high-performance HEMI motors with ease and efficiency, but it also brings about a much more engaging and responsive driving experience.
The evocative "chase frames" of the Jeep Grand Cherokee make up the ideal example of an intersection between classic design and modern engineering. Given that these vehicles' frame constructions had evolved from the traditional mo nobody constructions that dominated until now, and spanned over from a platform that could handle up to 100 horsepower, this transformation of Jeep Grand Cherokee chassis frames was done as a tribute to performance, safety and durability. We hope that our review can help you make your decision and be able to indulge in the "drive" and "savor" the past, with the drive and enthusiasm of today's Jeep Grand Cherokee models.
